Rossiya Airlines, part of Aeroflot Group, plans to continue its flight program to and from airports in Havana and Varadero, Cuba, despite the current fuel shortage in Cuba, according to Aeroflot. Air Canada has suspended flights, citing problems with aviation fuel supplies in the country, caused by a United States blockade on fuel reaching Cuba.

Aeroflot stated that “We will continue to operate the Rossiya Airlines flight program to these destinations amid reports from Cuban aviation authorities regarding a shortage of aviation fuel at airports in Havana and Varadero.”
Aeroflot notes that flight routes could be adjusted to include additional refueling stops, almost certainly via other friendly Caribbean countries. Rossiya flies to Cuba and back 5 times a week.
