Eurasian Economic Union Adopting Intelligent Transport Systems

Digital-EAEU

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has approved a concept for improving the interaction of intelligent transport systems of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The EAEU includes Russia, as well as Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It has free trade agreements with China, Serbia, Iran, and Vietnam and is negotiating numerous others, including with Singapore and India.

The implementation of the Concept will create a unified information space where the carrier will receive standardized information about weather conditions, possible congestion and traffic accidents. It defines approaches aimed at ensuring the interaction of intelligent transport systems (ITS) of the member States within the EAEU. This will contribute to the active implementation of ITS technologies in the road transport infrastructure, as well as increase the efficiency of their operation in providing information support to road users, including in the areas of responsibility of ITS operators on the Eurasian transport corridors.
