Russia’s FESCO transport group has launched a container transport service between Russia and the port of Durban in South Africa, according to German Maslov, vice president of FESCO’s line and logistics division.
For exports to South Africa, FESCO organizes shipments from Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg via its own ships to India’s Nhava Sheva port (Mumbai), where containers are transshipped to feeder vessels bound for Durban.
For import shipments from South Africa to Novorossiysk, FESCO routes containers via transshipment at the Nhava Sheva or Jebel Ali (UAE) ports, while shipments to St. Petersburg are routed through India’s Mundra port.
