Published on February 20, 2026

Russia’s FESCO transportation group has achieved a new weekly record volume of railway container transport from the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port. From 9 to 15 February, 6,767 TEU were sent from VMTP as part of 45 container trains. This is 62 TEU more than the previous weekly maximum achieved in August 2024.

FESCO stated that “Most of these containers travel to stations in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, and other Russian cities, as well as to Minsk. Among the shipped cargoes are food products, equipment, clothing, and construction materials from Asia Pacific countries.”

Three refrigerated container trains were also sent, operated by FESCO’s subsidiary company Dalreftrans, which is responsible for the transport of perishable and temperature-controlled cargo. In these compositions, Asian fruits, seafood, cosmetics, and other products require a special temperature regime.

FESCO, collaborating with Russian Railways (RZD), also increased carrying capacity by sending five twin container trains, 142 conventional wagons long, from Vladivostok. That is a total train and container length of over 3 to 6 km long.

Ivan Radchenko, the Managing Director of Vladivostok Port, said, “Prompt shipment of cargo by rail is an important part of our work. Such results are achieved thanks to the coordinated work of the entire collective of freight terminals, specialists of the chief dispatcher’s service, and partners from Russian Railways. This allows us to remain the primary sea gate for Russia in the Far East.”
