Welcome to Russia’s Pivot to Asia!
In this issue: The Russian President gave an important, data-laden speech this week discussing multiple aspects of the Russian economy, with substantial evidence pointing to a Russian bull market developing - ignored by the West. We provide analysis of this and establish the likely situation. Elsewhere, Russian diplomatic and trade efforts continue with China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, North Korea and Pakistan in Asia, and with the Sahel region of Africa. We also examine Russian involvement in the Syrian conflict and analyse the domestic situation in South Korea – with a warning to Europe that public discontent may spread further as government partisanship of a similar nature are arriving in France, Germany and elsewhere in the Eurozone. Only European Russia, it seems, has end of year political stability.
