Putin Meets With Head of the Republic Of Ingushetia

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has met with the head of the Republic of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov. Ingushetia is part of the Russian Federation yet has some autonomous control. It is situated in the North Caucasus and has a population of about 527,000. 

Kalimatov stated that the development of local industrial sites and their associated infrastructure in the region has helped attract major investors. Among the projects underway are plants producing detergents and liquefied gas, the launch of an IT academy by Safmar, and the construction of a logistics hub by the Wildberries online marketplace. In addition, work is ongoing on wastewater treatment facilities, as well as the enlargement of the regional airport.

He said that the Ingushetian economic situation had improved, the national debt had been reduced, and the volume of unfinished construction had been cut by 75%, implying that better planning and financial support were having a more positive impact on the local construction sector.

Ingushetia is a Muslim region of Russia and has the highest life expectancy in the Russian Federation. Natural resources include mineral water, oil and natural gas, timber, and some mineral extraction. By the end of 2025, Ingushetia entered the top 3 in terms of the lowest crime/violence rates in Russia.
