Russia Considering Issuing Multiple-Entry E-Visas

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development, together with the Russian Foreign Ministry, is working on introducing the possibility of multiple uses of an electronic visa to Russia, according to Maxim Reshetnikov, the Minister of Economic Development. He was speaking at the international tourism forum “Travel!” on Tuesday (June 10).

Reshetnikov said that “Currently, nationals from 64 countries may enter Russia with an electronic visa. It is planned to extend the period of stay on an electronic visa from 16 to 30 days. There are also requests for multiple uses of electronic visas.”

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported that the demand for travel in Russia is growing every year, with the development of tourism having a positive impact on the budgets of the country’s regions. According to him “The number of trips in 2024 alone exceeded 90 million” noting that by 2030 this figure is expected to grow to 140 million, with tourism accounting for 5% of GDP. “The development of domestic tourism is one of the priorities of our long-term strategy.” he added.
