Russia and Cuba are looking into producing flour and animal feed as part of their agricultural collaboration, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on Wednesday (April 1) at a meeting of the Russia-Cuba intergovernmental commission. He stated that 90 Russian companies are interested in supplying meat, dairy, and fish products to Cuba.
Russian agro-exports are not large and primarily include chocolate and flour confections, sunflower oil, and several dairy products. There have also been shipments of Russian vodka. A Russian ship with much-needed oil supplies has arrived in Cuba this week despite US President Trump’s threats to blockade the island.
