Russia To Export Gluten To Brazil

Gluten

Russia’s JSC AminoSib, which specializes in advanced wheat processing, is to begin exporting wheat gluten to Brazil. It plans to export 300 tonnes to the country and has already shipped a 25-tonne test batch.

The company stated “Latin America does not have its own plants for advanced wheat processing. A significant proportion of its imports currently come from Europe, and in comparison to the prices of imports from Europe, Russian gluten occupies a middle position, while it can compete with Europe in terms of quality.”

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley that acts as a binder and adds texture to many foods. It is commonly used in bread, pasta, and baked goods.

JSC AminoSib produces lysine, gluten, ethyl alcohol, as well as DDGS fodder and bran through the advanced processing of wheat. The plant was fully launched in 2018.
