The Russian company MK-Polymer , a resident company of the Seversk development territory in the Tomsk Region, supplied a batch of ethylene-propylene rubber to Kazenergokabel, the largest cable factory in Kazakhstan, and conducted operational tests on it, the company said.
The joint work was aimed at testing the use of new materials in cable production. The plant’s specialists adapted the technological process to the equipment, with the material proving to be reliable and ready for industrial use.
MK-Polymer specializes in the production of innovative polymer composite materials based on thermoplastic polymers and rubbers. The company produces thermoplastics, electrically conductive thermal insulation materials, non-flammable compounds, oil- and gasoline-resistant thermal insulation materials, thermoplastic polyurethane, ethylene-propylene rubber, concentrates, special-purpose materials, and finished products (cable cores and sealing systems). MK-Polymer cooperates with Tomsk Polytechnic University and Tomsk State University and conducts joint scientific and applied research aimed at creating unique materials and technologies.
The cross-linked ethylene propylene rubber developed in the company allows the creation of flexible power cables that are resistant to extreme temperatures from -65°C to +250°C. The product has become an indispensable solution for Arctic conditions, where increased reliability and durability of cable products are essential.
MK-Polymer intends to develop cooperation with Kazenergokabel both on the supply of EPR and on the selection of new solutions for future projects.
Kazenergocabel is the largest manufacturer of cable and wire products in Kazakhstan, with an product line of more than 18,000 items.
