Published on February 8, 2026

Russia’s FESCO Transport Group has increased the capacity of the FESCO Indian Line West (FIL-W) container line, connecting Novorossiysk, India, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, by almost 20%, the company has reported.

The increase occurred due to the replacement of one vessel serving the line with a far larger vessel. Previously, according to the company’s schedule, the FESCO EKATERINA (1,043 TEU), FESCO YANINA (962 TEU), and FESCO ASKOLD (1,080 TEU) container ships operated on the line. The new vessel has started work and is already making its first voyage on the FIL-W route. The container ship has left the port of Jebel Ali (UAE) and is heading to Novorossiysk with imported goods. At the same time, two more FESCO container ships with a combined capacity of over 2,000 TEU continue to provide transportation.

The FESCO Indian Line West maritime line has been operating since 2023 and connects Novorossiysk with the ports of India (Nhava Sheva and Mundra), the United Arab Emirates (Jebel Ali port), and Saudi Arabia (Jeddah port). Based on the results of 2025, container shipments on the line exceeded 19,000 TEU, 16% more than during 2024. Export transportation amounted to about 8,000 TEU (+3%), and import transportation to more than 11,000 TEU (+23%).
