Russia’s Pivot To Asia – 2025 Website Coverage & Results

RPA Main

Russia’s Pivot To Asia now enters its third full year of operations and has over the past months and years developed into a primary source of non-partisan, data-based commentary about what we see as the largest geopolitical shift in Eurasia for 800 years – Russia’s Pivot to Asia and the Global South.

A question often asked is who we are – and for that we possess some anonymity as our founder and financier is a well-known, Asian based corporate executive now in his 40th year of Eurasian investment expertise – who has previously faced sanctions threats and financial harassment concerning media involvement in Russia – despite media coverage being a non-sanctioned area. We are additionally supported by a team of people in Russia, in addition to South Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and Latin America. Rather than sensationalism, we try to dig deep to find the root causes behind the intelligence we provide. That includes decades of our own in-house expertise, our own fact-checking and research capabilities and a decision not to resort to hyperbole or exaggerated claims. Russia’s Pivot To Asia has become important because we present data-driven facts, not political rhetoric, and we rarely comment on the Ukraine situation (other people do that far better than we do).

So what did we do in 2025?

To illustrate our coverage, we’ve come up with some nice pie charts (our designer is in the Philippines) and can present some insights into our 2025 coverage as follows:

Countries Chart

There are 195 countries and territories represented at the United Nations. We featured Russia’s diplomatic ties and discussions with 156 of these, an extraordinary achievement not just by us, but reflecting the huge diplomatic push Russia made during the past year. Of these, 47 were in the constituent parts of Asia, while we featured intelligence from 52 of Africa’s total of 54 countries.

Hand in hand with those efforts, we covered 140 of Russia’s meetings with foreign officials, including 44 of President Putin’s diplomatic and trade related statements. We featured 105 articles concerning the Russian domestic economy (no, the Russian economy is not collapsing), 114 articles concerning Russian corporate investment – where it is going, and the amounts, and 63 very specific, detailed pieces concerning Russian inbound and outbound investment. We see both of these trends increasing during 2026 as investors begin to gain more confidence in Russia and Russian investors gain more confidence overseas.

Russia Region Chart

We featured intelligence concerning 32 of Russia’s 46 total regions, often related to infrastructure investment as the entire Russian infrastructure and supply chains reposition themselves towards the Eastern Hemisphere and Global South. The Russian Arctic was particularly newsworthy, as were the multiple developments along the INSTC. Of special note is how entire cities of millions of people in European Russia are connecting via Russia’s vast river networks to ports with onward connectivity to other global markets. This will only continue to develop and grow. 29 Russian cities and ports were featured as part of this dynamic shift. Europe meanwhile, has been decoupling from China – its trade flows are down and its supply chains via Russia disrupted. What is happening is a European divide as concerns access to Asia with the western part drifting away, and the eastern part enhancing connectivity.

Onwards into 2026

We will be increasingly prominent in annual Russian events such as SPIEF and the FEEF, in addition to involvement in think-tanks and occasional public appearances at specific forums. We will also be increasing our reach – towards the latter end of 2025 we began commissioning specific articles – we do have a budget for supporting such work. Academic and data-driven articles concerning all global regions will be welcome provided they fit into our remit. They must be relevant and fact based.
