Russia’s Tagras Holdings To Resume Oil Exploration In India

The geophysical division of TNG-Group, part of the Tatarstan-based oilfield services holding Tagras Holdings, plans to resume operations in India, the company has said following discussions with Oil India, the country’s largest oil producer.

TNG-Group and Oil India previously collaborated on the processing and interpretation of seismic data. The geophysical division of Tagras has also executed multiple contracts in the country, including conducting seismic surveys for Sun Petrochemicals (SunPetro), one of India’s largest private oil producers, on the offshore shelf of the Cambay Basin.

The Cambay Basin is a proven hydrocarbon field in Northwest India covering an area of 53,500km². It is estimated to hold proven reserves of 206 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas and 8 million metric barrels of condensate.

Tagras Holdings include 54 companies operating across eight divisions, providing geophysical, drilling, mechanical, oilfield, energy, and transport services. The company operates in India, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus and 35 regions of Russia.
