The Russian taxi ordering service WB Taxi is launching early access for users in Yerevan, Wildberries & Russ (RWB) has announced.
At the first stage, Wildberries employees and partners will receive special invitations, while ordinary users will be able to download the mobile application and leave a request to connect via a waiting list. In the coming weeks, access to the service will gradually be expanded. WB Taxi provides for a differentiated tariff system.
Armenia will become the fourth country where WB Taxi is present, following Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The taxi service has been developing in these markets since 2025.
There are an estimated 12,000 active cabs in Yerevan. Locals and visitors heavily rely on ride-hailing apps like Yandex Go and the local Armenian app GG instead of traditional street hailing. Traditional street taxis operate, but many do not use meters and rely on negotiated flat rates. Unlicensed private cars often double as informal taxis due to underemployment.
