Dubai is becoming a regional Middle Eastern hub for Russian businesses as they seek to move deeper into Asian markets. It offers a low tax regime and excellent infrastructure, and has become an energy trading hub following Western sanctions. The Gulf Cooperation Organisation (GCC) which includes the UAE, controls about 30% of the world’s oil supplies and sells about 70% of that to Asia, including China and India. Consequently, Dubai has emerged as an energy resource hub with connections to Riyadh, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Moscow.
