Russia’s Vladivostok International Airport and China’s Yichang International Airport, in China’s Hubei province, have signed a cooperation agreement, the Russian airport has said, stating, “The agreement is aimed at jointly developing air services between Vladivostok and Yichang.”
Charter flights from Vladivostok to Yichang are currently operated by Yakutia Airlines. Yichang has a population of about 4 million people and is famous for the Three Gorges, the Three Gorges Dam, and the Gezhouba Dam.

Vladivostok International Airport CEO Denis Chmutov has recently visited Shanghai during a business trip to China, where he and the airport’s management company, Aerodinamika, held talks with the management of China Eastern Airlines, one of China’s largest carriers. Chmutov said that “The representatives of China Eastern Airlines confirmed their interest in opening flight programmes to Vladivostok and Sochi.”
Vladivostok Airport served 3.26 million passengers in 2025, 10% up from the previous year.
