The Russian oilfield services company BurService is actively working on entering the Central Asian markets, according to its general director Ilya Pinigin. He was speaking on the sidelines of the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum 2026 currently being held in Tyumen.

Tyumen is a technological hub for the fuel and energy sector, home to key oil and gas companies, research institutes, and service organisations. It is located in Siberia.

Pinigin said “We are considering entering any friendly countries that are engaged in oil and gas, and where the local infrastructure of service companies is weak, so to speak – that means Africa, partly South America and Asia. We have made progress in the Commonwealth of Independent States, including Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. As regards more distant markets, so far everything is at the stage of negotiations.”

The Tyumen Oil and Gas Cluster is holding negotiations with some governments of Arab countries, Pinigin said. “They have a pool of suppliers that they offer, including us.”

Middle East Oil Market Suspended

Pinigin added that prospects of entering the Midde East markets will become tangible only when the Hormuz crisis ends, saying that “Right now, they have big problems themselves; they have nowhere to sell oil. They are stopping drilling. Accordingly, when all this ends, they will return to dialogue. Right now, they are in shock, they have a bit more on their minds right now than service.”

Pinigin said that the BurService Group includes the oilfield service company, the Ufaburmash drilling equipment plant, and the NDK  drilling company. “So today, we fully provide ourselves with equipment for downhole operations; we have drilling rigs, we have begun providing turnkey well drilling services. Our big dream is turnkey fields, we see great synergy in this in terms of personnel, in terms of costs, and an increase in the efficiency of field development as a whole.”

The company specializes in providing services in the field of drilling and development of oil and gas fields and unites production bases in eight regions of Russia. BurService is one of the largest oilfield service contractors in Russia, the management of which purchased the Russian assets of Halliburton after they exited the Russian market in 2022. Halliburton wrote off an investment of US$344 million. Last year, Burservice announced revenues of US$630 million, an increase of 11% over 2025.
